What am I going to learn?

Why Does Behaviour Happen?

We’ll explore the underlying causes of behaviour, including how it serves as a form of communication. Every behaviour has a purpose—whether it’s to gain something (like attention or access to a preferred item) or to avoid something (like a task or sensory discomfort).

How to Figure Out the Reason Behind Problem Behaviour?

Learn how to identify triggers and patterns using tools like the ABC (Antecedent, Behaviour, Consequence) model. By understanding what happens before and after a behaviour, you can uncover its reason and start addressing the root cause.

Replacing Problem Behaviours with Appropriate Alternatives:

Discover how to teach and reward (aka reinforce) positive behaviours that meet the same need as the problem behaviour. We’ll share examples and practical tips for skill-building to encourage lasting change.

Responding to Sensory-Based Behaviours:

Some behaviours stem from sensory sensitivities or needs. We’ll discuss strategies for addressing sensory issues, such as providing accommodations or incorporating sensory activities.
